Avalon Hotel Application

Project Description:

The proposed Avalon project consists of a 65-room hotel, with accompanying restaurant, bar and event facility. The hotel design includes three separate, three-story buildings totaling 43,469 square feet and a single story detached Event Center of 3,064 square feet. Additional site improvements would include a parking lot for 75 vehicles, 2 motorcycles and 15 bicycles,installation of paved walkways, raised boardwalks with interpretive signage,and landscaping.


A Coastal Development Permit, Use Permit, Design Review and Lo tLine Adjustment for a parcel merger are required for development. The proposed project also requires an environmental evaluation pursuant to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). Reviewing agencies include: Sherwood ValleyBand of Pomo, California Coastal Commission, California Department of Fish and Wildlife, California State Parks, California Northcoast Regional Water QualityControl Board, Caltrans, Mendocino County Department of Building and Planning,Fort Bragg Fire Department and the City of Fort Bragg.
